Day 1: pick up from the Entebbe International Airport and transfer to Kasese
The first day of your 4-day cultural encounter and wildlife safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park is your eve into adventure. You will be picked up from Kampala or Entebbe International Airport, depending on your location, by our guide/driver. You will head to kasese via kampala- mubende highway. The journey takes about 5-6 hours through the undulating hills of the west, scenic views of the farmlands, terraced hills, valleys, and roadside markets.
Reaching Kasese town in the afternoon, you will have lunch enroute to a good restaurant in Kasese town where you will enjoy the local cousins prepared using the organically grown ingredients of the area. You can also choose to savor the international cuisines prepared with organic ingredients sourced from around the region.
From a sumptuous lunch, you will embark on the Kasese town drive, and then head straight to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is a short drive. You can stop at the equator and enjoy the photos before entering the park, you will arrive and check in to your lodge within Queen Elizabeth National Park, relax, and have a night’s rest.
Day 2: Queen Elizabeth game drive and boat cruise
You can take a lot of photos during the evening boat cruise.
After, you will be dropped back to the lodge, where you will enjoy refreshment and relaxation as your dinner is prepared in the kitchen. In a while, you can enjoy a coffee or tea brewed from the organic ingredients grown by the communities within Queen Elizabeth National Park.
You will rest and have a night in Queen Elizabeth National Park.Early in the morning you will have a hearty breakfast and embark on the morning game drive at 7 am to catch the animals as they get out of the caves and hideouts. The morning game drive is the best time to get sightings of almost all the wildlife in Queen Elizabeth National Park such as the elephants, buffaloes, kobs, baboons, and lions on the morning hunt.
You will have stops to take photos of the animals you may spot along the game drive trails, you will also drive to the southern part of ishasha to see the tree-climbing lions. You will head back to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the evening, you will drive to the kazinga channel and embark on the evening game drive, watching the sun as it sets. Day 3: Departure from Queen and Kiwa Heritage Site
After breakfast, you will check out of your lodge and join the journey out of Queen Elizabeth National Park to the Kiwa Heritage Site. You will enjoy another game drive through the park and enjoy the animals again.
You will drive to Kiwa Heritage site via Kilembe Road to Kitonzi where this hidden gem is located. Being in a hidden location, Kiwa Heritage Site is indeed a hidden gem as a few tourists even know this mesmerizing site. You will enjoy the hot springs at river Nyamwamba, swim, and learn a lot about the culture of the Bakonzo tribe and Basongora; the major tribes in Kasese district.
You will head to Fort Portal and enjoy the crater lakes drive, also visit the Mabere Ga Nyina Mwiru where you will enjoy the folklore about the caves. From there, you will head to Fort Portal and check in to a good hotel, where you will spend the night. Optional, you can enjoy the nightlife in Fortal Portal Town to one of the famous clubs.
Day 4: Tooro Kingdom Palace tour and return journey to Kampala
Early in the morning after the morning breakfast, you will check out of the hotel and then embark on the journey to Kampala. You will enroute to the Tooro Kingdom Palace where you will get a chance to delve into the “batooro” tradition, understanding the different heritage the palace holds in Uganda’s history.
From the Tooro Kingdom Palace, you will continue with the journey back to Kampala, via Mbarara road; yet another scenic drive in the country roads, you will have lunch in Mbarara, at Igogo Cultural Center. You will have another stop over at Kayabwe Equator for photos,m and then head back to Kampala or be dropped at Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
Alternatively, you can spend a night in Entebbe, depending on your flight schedule, but this accommodation is optional.
Day 4: Tooro Kingdom Palace tour and return journey to Kampala
