Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport and hotel transfer
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you’ll be met by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Entebbe or Kampala. Relax and unwind after your journey, and if time permits, take a stroll along the shores of Lake Victoria
Day 2: Transfer to Semuliki National Park
After breakfast, depart for Semuliki National Park, located in the western part of Uganda. It is the only tract of true lowland tropical forest in East Africa, hosting 441 recorded bird species and 53 mammals marking beautiful sceneries along the way.
The Semuliki Valley contains numerous features associated with central rather than eastern Africa, the forest is home to numerous Central African wildlife species and local tribes.
Upon arrival at Semuliki, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, take a guided nature walk along the park’s trails, where you’ll have the opportunity to spot a variety of wildlife and bird species.
Day 3: Cultural Experience with the Batwa
Today after breakfast, immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Batwa pygmies, an indigenous forest-dwelling tribe with our guides. Learn about their traditional way of life, including hunting techniques, medicinal plant usage, and cultural practices.
Participate in traditional dances and songs with the Batwa community, gaining insight into their unique worldview and spiritual beliefs. Enjoy a packed lunch while engaging with the locals.
In the evening, enjoy a campfire dinner under the stars, accompanied by storytelling and folklore.
Day 4: Semuliki Hot Springs and Community Interaction
Taking a tour after breakfast at the Semuliki Hot Springs, located in western theses offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the healing powers of nature while immersing themselves in the rich biodiversity of the region.
Consisting of two main springs known locally as Bitente, and the “male” hot spring, known as Nyasimbi. Bitente, the larger of the two springs, is characterized by bubbling pools of boiling water and cascading steam vents that create an otherworldly atmosphere.
The water temperature at Bitente can reach up to 103°C (217°F), making it one of the hottest natural springs in the world Nyasimbi, the “male” hot spring, is located a short distance from Bitente and is known for its smaller, cooler pools of water. The temperature at Nyasimbi is significantly lower than at Bitente. A visit to the hot springs may encounter various wildlife species while exploring the forest trails, adding an element of adventure to their experience.
Enjoy a traditional Ugandan lunch prepared by community members before returning to your lodge for an evening of relaxation.
Day 5: Rwenzori hike from kilembe to first camp(2600m)
After breakfast, depart for Rwenzori Mountains National Park, home to the legendary Mountains of the Moon.
Upon arrival at the kilembe gate, you will be briefed about the details of the hiking trail and the regulations for safety.
Guided by the local guide, you will start your hike through the rocky terrain with a stunning view of river Nyamwamba.
you will have a rest at the first campsite, at 2600m above sea level. Relax with the tranquil sound of the running water from the melted snow.
Day 6: hike to second camp (3585m)
If the first day of the Rwenzori trek left you daring for more, this is the real business. form the campsite, continue with the hike, after breakfast.
In just a few meters meet with the bamboo forest which transitions into an erica forest at 3000m. Along the way, learn about the park’s unique flora and fauna, including endemic plant species and insects.
The day ends at the second camp, at 3585 meters. you will rest at the camp over a night.
Day 7: Descend back
From the more breakfast, you will be escorted again to descend. the descent is easy and can be hiked in just one day from the second camp.
Revisit all the wonders you might have missed during the intense ascending hike, take photos, and enjoy the thrills of mountain Rwenzori at last.
You will have a lunch break before reaching the parking. you will drive to Kasese town where you will have a night at a hotel.
Day 8: Transfer to Kampala
Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will embark on a cultural encounter to Fort Portal, and delve into the traditions and culture of the Tooro kingdom.
You will visit the Tooro Kingdom Karambi tombs and the Tooro Kingdom palace. Delve into the history of the Babiito, or the royal family of the Tooro kingdom. Meet with the history and the present as you dive into the informative narrations from the local guide.
Day 9: Return to Entebbe/Kampala
After breakfast, bid farewell to the Rwenzori Mountains National Park and Semliki National Park. Begin your journey back to Entebbe or Kampala via the mbarara- masaka road. Enjoy a Stop for lunch en route at Kayabwe and arrive in the capital city in the late afternoon.
Depending on your departure time, you may have the opportunity for some last-minute souvenir shopping or a brief city tour before transferring to the airport for your onward flight.
