3 Days school Trip to Western Uganda
Overview
The three-day school trip involves students exploring the most popular study sites located in western Uganda. The major destinations for this trip are Kasese and fort portal towns, where they will visit the major tourist centers like katwe Salt Lake, kilembe mines, Sempaya Hot Spring, and the Tooro Kingdom palace in Fort Portal City.

Day 1: Travel to Western Uganda
Early in the morning the students will start with breakfast at school and then have a briefing about the trip facilitated by our tour guide. After the briefing, we will set off to western Uganda via the mityana-mubende route. We shall have a visit to the tanda cultural center in mityana where the students will learn a lot about the Buganda kingdom, traditions, norms and origin.
The students will have short stopovers for lunch and refreshment before reaching fort portal town. When we reach the fort portal, the students will have a visit to the town and then head to the guest house for check-in. they will get settled into their rooms and later have dinner and rest.
Day 2: Lake Katwe and Kilembe mines tour
The students will set off to lake katwe salt mines where they will learn a lot about the chemical changes which make the water salty and the aquatic life which strives in such conditions. After, we will head to kilembe mines where the students will learn a lot about the colonial activities in the copper mines and also know a lot about the history of the mines.
From the kilembe mines, we will drive to fort portal town for a lunch break. Then, head to karuzika hill where we will visit the tooro kingdom palace. The students will have time to delve into the tooro culture and also relate a lot to their studies in a glimpse. After that we will head back to the guest house for refreshment, dinner and the night’s rest.
Day 3: Sempaya Hotsprings and Departure.
Early in the morning, the students will get ready and get checked out of the guest house. After, we will head to sempaya hot springs where the students will discover the forces which cause the water to boil at 100 degrees Celsius without any fire. They will also enjoy the vegetation around the hot springs, butterflies and birds. From there, we will embark on our journey back to Kampala. We will have our lunch break at any convenient stopover around the return route.
School trip rules and regulations
- No student is expected to move away from the general team
- All students should pay attention to the facilitator while instructions are communicated during the trip
- Students are supposed to keep discipline and order during the journeys, and all through the school trip
- All immorality, hooliganism and vandalism are greatly not accepted during the school trip.
