9 Days Turkey cities tour
Overview
The trip begins with a visit to a clothing factory in Turkey to learn about the country’s clothing culture and purchase locally made items. The group then travels to Firtina Valley for river rafting and a visit to the Ayder plateau for lunch and hiking. The tour continues in Trabzon with a visit to the Old City, including the Aya Sofya, Ataturk’s Villa, Boztepe Hill, and Sera Lake. The group then flies to Antalya for a walking tour of the Old City, boat ride to view waterfalls, and a cable car ride to Sarisu Beach. The trip concludes with a visit to Pamukkale for a tour of the ancient city of Hierapolis, lunch, and paragliding. The final destination is Istanbul where the tour ends and travelers head home.
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN ISTANBUL-TURKEY.
The city straddles Europe and Asia, and is home to various religious communities and notable architectural sites. After being transported to the hotel, you can relax and prepare for the next day’s adventures.
DAY 2: ISTANBUL OLD CITY TOUR.
After a delicious Turkish breakfast, embark on a city tour of Istanbul’s Old Town. Visit iconic sites such as the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and Hagia Sophia. Have lunch with locals and hear about the country’s history. If you’re a shopper, don’t miss the Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest and largest covered markets. End the day with a spice tour in the Spice Bazaar, where you can sample Turkish tea, spices and candies, and other treats like caviar and dried nuts. Return to the hotel for check-out.
DAY 3: BOSPHORUS CRUISE & BUS TOUR.
After breakfast, embark on a cruise of Istanbul’s famous waterways. Start with a tour of the Dolmabahce Palace, a grand summer home of the last six Sultans of the Ottoman Empire. Then, sail down the Bosphorus Strait and the Golden Horn, passing landmarks like the Maiden’s Tower, Old Constantinople Walls, Kucuksu Palace, Ciragan Palace, Ortakoy Mosque, Bosphorus Bridge, Beylerbeyi Palace, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and Rumeli Castle. Afterwards, take a bus tour to Pierre Loti Hill for a scenic cable car ride and a view of Istanbul and the Golden Horn. End the tour with a visit to the Old City Walls before returning to the hotel.
DAY 4: ISTANBUL TO TRABZON & UZUNGOL.
Take a domestic flight to Trabzon and be met by a representative. Visit a tea factory and a Surmene knives and gift shop. After lunch, travel to Uzungol Lake for free time to explore the area, including renting a pedal boat or going on a hike. Return to Trabzon in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 5: AYDER HIGHLANDS TOUR.
Start your day with a visit to a clothing factory that distributes throughout Turkey to learn about the country’s clothing culture and purchase items made there. Next, head to Firtina Valley, also known as Storm Valley. The valley features steep sides and old stone bridges, and offers the opportunity for river rafting. After, visit Ayder Plateau for a lunch stop and free time to explore hiking trails and natural waterfalls. Return to Trabzon for an overnight stay.
DAY 6: TRABZON CITY TOUR.
Explore Trabzon’s old city from your hotel. See the Aya Sofya and Ataturk’s Villa, then visit Boztepe Hill for panoramic views of the city and Sera Lake. End the tour with a drop-off at Trabzon Airport for a flight to Antalya and an overnight stay in a hotel.
DAY 7: ANTALYA CITY TOUR.
Explore the Old City of Antalya, known as “Kaleici,” early in the morning. Walk through winding streets and see historical sites such as Hadrian’s Gate, Hidirlik Tower, Ottoman-era houses and gardens, and Republic Square. Later, take a boat ride to view the Karpuzkaldiran and Duden waterfalls, have lunch on the boat, and finish with a cable car ride to Sarisu Beach for a picnic and time at the park. DAY 8: PAMUKKALE & HIERAPOLIS TOUR.
Start the day early with a trip to Pamukkale, known for its cascading hills of warm mineral-rich waters. Explore the pools and enjoy lunch. Afterwards, visit the ancient city of Hierapolis with its amphitheater and various religious buildings. Finish the day with a thrilling paragliding experience, taking in the views of the natural wonders and ancient ruins. Return to the hotel for relaxation.
DAY 9: RETURN TO ISTANBUL AND DEPARTURE.
In the morning, travel to Denizli airport for your flight to Istanbul, marking the end of your tour.
