Day 1:Transfer to your Bwindi Lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National park via the Equator
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in southwestern Uganda near the borders with Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its exceptional biodiversity, including its endangered mountain gorilla population. Covering 331 square kilometers, Bwindi impenetrable national park boasts lush tropical rainforests, steep hills, and brooky narrow valleys. Its thick vegetation provides a habitat for various primates like chimpanzees, baboons, and monkeys, together with over 350 bird species and 200 butterfly species, among others.
Bwindi impenetrable national park’s significance lies in its ability to harbor approximately half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, making it a hub for gorilla trekking tourism, a practice carefully managed to ensure the sustainability of both the delicate ecosystem and the local communities’ livelihoods, such as the Batwa pygmies of Bwindi, and the Bakiga local communities.
Day one
Departure from Entebbe/ Kampala is on the first day of the 3 Day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking safari. it’s an eight to nine (8-9) hours’ drive from Entebbe international airport to Bwindi impenetrable national park in the southwestern Uganda. You should not be bothered by the long distance, because the country roads of Uganda are filled with beautiful scenic views of elevating landscapes like hills, valleys, savannah fields, among others. In the comfort of your 4WD tour vehicle, you will have a chance to take photo, so don’t forget your camera.
Along the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park, you will en-route at the Equator crossing at Kayabwe where you will take photos and also learn about the equator with the simple experiment before you continue to Mbarara town for Lunch. Then after, you will proceed on with your scenic drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park overnight at Buhoma.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
An early morning breakfast will set you into the right moods for the marvelous experience of gorilla trekking. After the break first, your guide will drive you to the Park Headquarters in Ruhija for briefing together with all the other trekkers, before heading into the forest for your gorilla trek. The briefing will highlight the gorilla trekking rules and regulations and the post COVID 19 SOPs for tourists.
The trekking period takes about 30minutes or more depending on the location of the gorilla family you booked for. An hour is given to you to enjoy your encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas, once your family is found. The one-hour period will provide you with enough time to learn about the mountain gorilla behavior, and photography moments before returning back to the Park Headquarters to an individual certificate to confirm your participation in tracking gorillas in Uganda. After you will head back to your accommodation for refreshment and relaxation, where you will stay overnight.

Day 3: Drive back to Entebbe & Depart
