Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
On the first day of the safari, you will be picked up from your hotel in Entebbe and driven to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The journey takes around 9 hours, but the scenic drive through the rolling hills of Uganda is worth it. You will arrive in the afternoon and check into your lodge, where you will spend the night.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & Community Walk- Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
The highlight of the safari is undoubtedly the gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After an early breakfast, you will set off on a trek through the dense forest, led by an experienced guide. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the location of the gorillas, but the encounter with these magnificent creatures is unforgettable. You will spend an hour in the presence of the gorillas, observing their behavior and taking photos before returning to your lodge.
In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to visit a local community and learn about their way of life, traditions, and customs. This is a great way to connect with the local people and gain a deeper understanding of Uganda’s culture.
Day 3: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha Sector
After breakfast, you will leave Bwindi and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha sector. Ishasha is famous for its tree-climbing lions, and you may be lucky enough to spot them lounging in the branches of fig trees. You will arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park in the late afternoon and check into your lodge.
Day 4: Game Drive & A Boat Cruise- Kazinga Channel
The morning of day four is reserved for a game drive in the park, during which you will have the opportunity to see elephants, lions, buffaloes, and other wildlife. After lunch, you will take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. The channel is home to a large number of hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds, making it an ideal place for bird watching.
Day 5: Morning Game Drive, Visit to the Baboon Cliff & Departure to Kibale
On this day, you will go on a morning game drive in the park, during which you will have another chance to see the Big Five. After the game drive, you will visit the Baboon Cliff, which offers panoramic views of the park and the surrounding landscape. You will then leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive to Kibale Forest National Park, where you will spend the night.
Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking & Transfer to Entebbe
The last day of the safari is dedicated to chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park. After breakfast, you will set off on your return journey to Entebbe airport for your departure flight if time allows.
