5-day wildlife safari adventure in the heart of Kenya
Overview
Take a 5-day tour of Aberdare National Park in Kenya to explore its diverse wildlife and scenic views. Spot elephants, lions, leopards, and black rhinos during game drives and other activities such as hiking and bird-watching. Enjoy comfortable accommodation in luxury lodges and tented camps. Day 1: Aberdare National park.
Start your exploration of Aberdare National Park with an early morning journey. Admire the stunning views and take photos. The park staff will welcome you and you’ll tour its varied terrain, including steep forests and moorland. Check into your lodging, relax and prepare for the next day’s adventures. Aberdare is located in central Kenya and features the Aberdare Ranges volcanic mountains, discovered by Joseph Thompson as the first European to see the ranges.
Day 2: game drive and nature walks
Take an early morning game drive to see the Big Five and other wildlife in their natural habitats. Hike through wilderness with a guide to spot a diverse array of bird species, then visit the scenic Karuru Falls. End the day with a stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Hiking and chimpanzee trekking
Take on a challenging hike to the top of Elephant Hill, a great preparation for future hikes such as Mt Meru, Mt Kilimanjaro or Mt Kenya. Enjoy the beautiful nature trail and bamboo forest, and take in panoramic views of the Aberdare Ranges from the summit. After a stop for lunch, head to OL Pajeta Conservancy in Nanyuki for an opportunity to learn more about chimpanzees, our closest relatives, during a trek. Return to the lodge for an overnight stay
Day 4: horse riding, golf and cave exploration
Explore the park in a unique and breathtaking way by horseback, getting closer to the wild animals and taking in the scenic nature. Afterwards, take a walk to the 9-hole golf course within the sanctuary and learn some new skills or support the players. After lunch, head to the Queen’s Cave at Aberdare National Park, a historical site where Princess Elizabeth visited before ascending to the throne. Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and fresh environment in the caves. Spend the night at the lodge.
Day 5: Departure.
On this last day of your amazing safari trip, depart from Aberdare Park after a memorable trip of adventure, wildlife and nature. Pack your belongings and check out from the lodge. You’ll have time for a final glimpse of the park’s stunning scenery before heading back to the agreed drop-off point, marking the end of your journey.
