Uganda queen Elizabeth national park murder attack

Allegedly, an incident inside Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park resulted in the deaths of three which included a honeymooning couple of a British national and a south African tourist, happened on the 17th October 2023. The incident which took place on the fateful day, was described as “cowardly,” by many social media platforms. It is reported that this awing attack on the tourists occurred as the victims were on the game drive the park β€œin” the southern sector; ishasha of queen Elizabeth national park of Uganda.

However, on the 19th October 2023, the incident was put into light as a press release was called for by the Uganda wildlife authority spokesperson. In the press release, the Uganda wildlife authority emphasized that the attack was not done inside the national park, but rather on one of the trading center roads outside queen Elizabeth. Mr. Hanji added and emphasized, “We urge the public to remain patient and allow the investigative process to run its course.”

He also added that the Uganda tourist police and the military police was deployed in several parts of queen Elizabeth national park to ensure maximum security in all surrounding areas of queen Elizabeth national park.

Uganda’s police reported that the trio were killed, and their vehicle burned, near the Queen Elizabeth National Park in the southwestern of Uganda.

It was also reported that the attack was done by the allied Democratic force members also known as the ADF. However, the Uganda police also emphasized that the joint forces were pursuing suspected members of ADF rebel group.

A few hours later, a press release from the state house aired as the president of Uganda; Yoweri Museveni said the tourists were from the UK and South Africa, while their guide was Ugandan and also added that the Ugandan High Commission in the UK would provide support to the families of the murdered couple through the awing moment.

The United Kingdom Foreign Office has updated its travel advice for Uganda in emphasis to the spreading news warning the “attackers remain at large”. And also advising against “all but essential travel” to Queen Elizabeth National Park, adding that anyone in the park should “follow the advice of local security authorities”,

“British nationals in the area should follow our travel advice and contact us if they require assistance.

Inconclusion, the murder attack on the honeymooning couple was dreadful and cowardly done by the ADF rebel.
